Saturday, April 26 is show day for the Pensacola Beach
British Car Show . A MUST-ATTEND show. 132 entrants were
here last year. We will again host the Friday evening "Red
Beans and Rice Welcome Party" which is always a highlight
of the show weekend. The best red beans and rice anywhere
will be served at no charge and PBCA members and our
out-of-town guests always enjoy a great get together.
This year the show will feature a large canopy tent located
in the middle of the show to shield folks from the beach
sun and dusk to dawn paid security on Friday and Saturday
night to keep the parking lot at the Pensacola Beach Best
Western secure.

First Event of 2003
Keith and Nelda Sanders led a tour
ninety miles west to the giant Florida Caverns near
Marianna. The 60 degree year-round temperature below the
ground was much higher that the unusually frigid Florida
day. Norma Peterson's complete article follows here.

Largest Turn-out Ever for Christmas Party
The 2002 Christmas Party was held at the Pensacola Beach Best
Western on December 7th. Very well attended by over 50 PBCA
members, it featured fried turkey, ham and all the
fixings provided by PBCA and coordinated by Ann Fell. Ann
also arranged again this year for a cake with PBCA
decorations for dessert. Another "Dirty Santa" gift exchange
was held to both the delight and the chagrin of many members.
Ralph Overly was presented with the Member of the Year Award
by PBCA President, Ron Newman. Ralph, PBCA Secretary,
attended every meeting and most other events, is always a big
help with the annual British car show and is famous for his
friendliness and willingness to help out in any way. The
completeness and accuracy of his minutes of the club meetings
have become legendary.
The weather cooperated again this year and it was nice enough
to lounge about in a light jacket on the beachside patio
before and after the party and a number of couples did just
that. Many then took advantage of the the very low room
rate, spent the night, and got together for Sunday brunch at
the Bayside Grill next door to the motel.
See more about the Christmas party on our website on the "Other shows 2002" page. Click here for that page.
PBCA Membership Soars in 2002
Our membership, for the first time, went over 100 members
in 2002 but dropped slightly with the occasion of people
moving, cars being sold and a few illnesses. Within two
months, the departed members were replaced by the following
enthusiastic British car owners and we are again 100
strong. If you see an unfamiliar face in a British Car in
your travels, invite them to join us.
Please welcome the following new members:
