The PBCA Christmas Party will be at the Best Western Pensacola Beach December 9th, 6:00 pm to ???. In past years, many members have stayed over Saturday night and gathered for brunch Sunday morning at a local Pensacola Beach restaurant. Again this year we have an excellent rate at the Best Western of $39.00 off beach and $49.00 on the beach rooms. The "Dirty Santa" gift exchange will be held again this year. Bring a gift in the $10.00 range per person, contact your friendly divorce attorney and join in the fun. The Club will provide all the food. Bring whatever beverage you prefer. It is not necessary to make reservations but a call to Gus Fell, 850 994-0123 or Tom Schmitz, 334 961-7171 will help with the food planning. New officers, elected at the November Monthly Meeting will be installed. The Christmas Party takes the place of the regular Monthly Meeting.
The Panhandle British Car Association has had a successful year in both growth and activities. The club has grown by 11 new members to a total of 73. More members have been active than in recent years. Every month there has been some form of activity or event and in September there were 34 members at the "Drive to Bon Secour Lunch Tour". That was a higher turnout than any other activity in years other than the Pensacola Beach and Fairhope Shows.
PBCA members ranged far and wide this year as ambassadors for the Club. The Club was represented at the Lillian 1999 Christmas Parade (11 cars in the rain), the Panama City British Car Show, Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival, New Orleans British Car Show, Camellia Show at Bellingrath, Townsend TN British Car Show, Chateau Elan British Car Gathering in Atlanta, Haji Temple Show, Lillian Car Show (This show's first year with 19 members' cars), Montgomery British Car Gathering, North American MGC Convention, AACA Seville Square Show (Nine First Place Trophies to PBCA), Ft. Walton Beach Car Show, SABCC British Car Show in Fairhope, Natchez MS "Brits on the Bluff" British Car Show, New Orleans Jaguar Concours Burnside LA, Chattanooga TN British Car Show plus others that I didn't make and will owe some members apologies for not mentioning.
In addition to the Bon Secour Tour, PBCA hosted the Classic Car Club of America Tour at Bill Silhan's Shop in Pensacola, attended various SABCC Tech Sessions, had a great turnout for the 1999 Christmas Party and its is hoped will turn out in even bigger numbers for the 2000 Christmas Party December 9th at the Pensacola Beach Best Western.
The Nominating Committee presented the following slate of officers and Board Members for 2001 at the November meeting. Those elected will officially take office at the Christmas Party.
